Bibione offers its visitors the opportunity to experience ‘slow tourism’ in the heart of Valgrande, its most precious natural jewel.
This 360-hectare area consists of fishing valleys, a pristine green space rich in rare animal and plant species. To understand the historical and naturalistic value of this place, it’s necessary to take a step back and explore its origins. It’s a lowland formed during the construction of the Tagliamento Delta. In 1600, it was transformed into a fishing valley by order of Antonio da Molin, and thanks to the care and environmental awareness of the owners who inherited it after him, its character has remained virtually intact, so much so that even today it hosts a truly unique harmonious blend of historical, cultural, and naturalistic elements.
Listing all the riches of this place would detract from the pleasure of experiencing them firsthand. It’s enough to mention the presence of a Roman seaside villa, centuries-old holm oak groves, and fossil dunes to convey the unique nature of this special place, already considered one of Europe’s most interesting natural heritage sites, a protected area that received EMAS recognition in 2002. At the same time, it was decided to open it to the public to make its unique features and the experiential possibilities it offers known and accessible to all.
Today, it can be visited via various itineraries, primarily on horseback, by bicycle, on foot, or by kayak. These excursions cover a 10 km route and are accompanied by guides who speak Italian, English, and German.
You can also indulge in activities that immerse you in nature, such as photography and bird watching. This place therefore offers the opportunity to rediscover a contemplative dimension far from the lively and dynamic atmosphere of the beach.

Valgrande can be reached by car from Corso del Sole and turning at the roundabout. It can only be visited with a guide. Activities in Valgrande take place weekly, and prices may vary.
